26th edition of Art Amsterdam a success
The 26th edition of Art Amsterdam came to a successful conclusion on Sunday 30 May having welcomed a total of 22,205 visitors. Holland’s largest contemporary art exhibition featured 129 galleries including 21 newcomers. Director Edo Dijksterhuis deliberately steered the exhibition in a new direction for this year’s event, introducing elements such as ‘No Holds Barred’ and the art collectors’ programme ‘Club C’.

Art Amsterdam 2010: a new direction
The 26th edition of Art Amsterdam, Holland’s largest contemporary art exhibition, will take place from 26 to 30 May 2010. In addition to the leading Dutch galleries, Art Amsterdam will welcome exhibitors from countries such as Belgium, Germany, France, the UK, Denmark and South Korea. Read more

Art Amsterdam 2010 opening: Jonathan de Winter performance
The 2010 edition of Art Amsterdam will be officially opened on 26 May at 7 p.m. with a performance by Jonathan de Winter (1982, Belgium). This young Belgian artist will build an installation using waste materials where musicians will take up their places. Read More

”No Holds Barred”: Everything is allowed and everything is possible!
Gallery owners with ideas for wild, outrageous or spectacular presentations can do their own thing at Art Amsterdam in “No Holds Barred”. The name of this programme element that replaces the former central exhibition is derived from American (show) wrestling. No Holds Barred means that there are no rules and that all holds are allowed. 2010 Thieme Art Award nominations announced
The five nominated artists for the 2010 Thieme Art Award have been announced. The winner will be announced on Thursday 27 May at 4 p.m. The first copy of the monograph of the winner of last year, Gijs van Lith, will also be presented.

Art Amsterdam 2010: world’s first carbon-neutral art exhibition
The 26th edition of Art Amsterdam from 26 to 30 May 2010 in Amsterdam RAI will be a carbon-neutral exhibition. All energy consumption related to the organisation before, during and after this prestigious event will be compensated. This pilot programme means that Art Amsterdam is set to be the world’s first CO2 neutral art exhibition. Read more
